(20′) 1 : 0
the winning goal in the first half was scored by german striker, podolski at 20 minutes of the clock.
with ball possession almost entirely with the germans, the poles could only grab an occasional scratch with it. oops. perhaps it’s time for the poles to take back their boastful words.
the poles had a chance some time later. but the shot went just a little bit off course and glide roll past the goal post… to the joy of the germans.
and BOOs to that foul on podolski by the polish players. the poles step on his balls (or somewhere near that region). ouch.

the poles had a chance. and it was a goal ?! nah… an offside. and the poles started tearing off their hair in frustration.
and then, it’s another goal at 70′ by podolski (here’s one for stepping on his balls). the polish goalkeeper was simply falling asleep at that moment!
and some time after that, the poles had another chance. a close shave for the germans with lehmann (goalkeeper) saving the day with a dive up front.
minutes after that, the poland team had yet another chance. another close shave for the germans with lehmann (goalkeeper) saving the day once again. truly, he deserve a pay raise.
well, the poles fought well. but we all know what that means. those who fought well loses the match. after all, only the victors get to tell somone, “mate, you fought well”
and yes, the germans were lucky. very lucky. 2 lucky shots for them which scored. 4 unlucky poles attempts with zero that were true to the target.
