for starters and as to celebrate, italy drew with romania!!! with a -3 goal difference in their pocket… italy is ranked LAST in group c. that means that there is a high chance that italy, the former world cup 2006 champions will be booking an early ticket back home.
on a side note. or rather, it’s an observation by the world. every time an italia football player or goalkeeper messes up in a major game (be it euro, world cup, seria a), the italian mafias that bets heavily on them usually ends it with some slaughtering when the players get home…
his highness wonders… will the same thing happen if italy goes home early?

and it’s now back to time with holland vs. france. his highness has high hopes to see france’s butt being kick by the orange jersey holland players. if france can’t perform tonight, it’s a battle between them and italy for last place. lol. and it means holland will be at the top of the group, with romania as the group c runner up.
and approaching half time (HT):-
an early goal from holland. an early hit to the french’s spirit. at least, it will prompt them to push! ribery from france is doing good. it’s a pity his mates aren’t connecting from his efforts…
and holland continues to have massive ball possession(59% at HT, according to livescores.com. while then french defenders continues to use their huge arms to push and shover in the game to defend from an aggressive dutch front.
good shot from ribery at 34′. he’s a good player. and a brilliant save from the dutch goalkeeper. phew. and a great many attempts from the french. valiant attempts which didn’t bear fruit at the end. good job holland. ya’re watertight in the defense with your ‘a’ rate goalkeeper, conceding zero goals so far in the group matches.

and approaching full time (FT):-
wa a great many shots from france in the 49′. france should have gotten the penalty. oh well… looks like the referee won’t be going to paris… he will have a price marked on his head if france doesn’t make it to the quarter-finals…
and at 53′… henry got a clear path with nothing between him and the goalkeeper. he got a little too eager there… shoots and sent it WIDE over the poles. the leading scorer for the french had fumbled at the wrong time. hmm.. darn, why is highness cheering for france now? that because they are playing such good football in the second half.

a great goal from holland. the verdict? the french goalkeeper is a terrible player as compared to the dutch goalkeeper. the same situation happen at the dutch’s half and holland calmly removes it… it happen once to the french, and it’s a goal in. my… the GOAL hit the frenchmen’s leg and rolled it…
it looks like the dutch is likely to do a 3 - 0 game. just like what happen in the holland vs. italy match. hohoho.
a great attempt by holland at the 68′, but there was no one to get the cross that could have lead to a 3 - 0 game. sighs…
and HENRY saves the day with a one goal at 71′. it was a cheesy goal. the ball hit his leg and bumped it.

WAIT!!! at 72′, a goal by HOLLAND, totally wasting france’s efforts. the game is SEALED. henry is crushed after thinking he gave france a life line.

it’s back to square one for france. looks like france is going home. holland is definitely going into the quarter-finals.
81′, another chance for france. and he who shoots the ball… fell down when kicking. OMG. more despair for the french.
5 mins till 90′ as france tried hard. henry tried. ribery tried. others tried. bad luck seems to shine. oops. while lady fortune had smiled A LOT for the dutch.
here’s one to poke for her suport to holland.
and OMG. a goal by HOLLAND sealing the fate of france at 90′+ 2 min injury time. and the whistle blow for FT.

-3 goal difference for both italy and france. now, who will be last? well, since france lost. italy still has a chance for quarters. this is truly the group of death.
scenario 01: if romania loses, and either italy or france wins, they have a chance to be runner-ups
scenario 02: if romania, romania becomes runner-ups. both italy and france goes home. will romania win? will holland sent in their reserve players which will make it easy match for romania and hence a possible win for them? and this is a possible scenario
then it seems, the fate of italy and france will depend on the decision of the dutch coach and the might of the romania players. whatever the case, italy and france will battle it out. from the looks of it, the bet is on france to win in that up-coming match, and for italy to go home (well, most claim italy didn’t deserve the win in the world cup match vs germany and in the finals)
