whenever any choice is offered to us (if it was ever offered to us in the first place), there’s almost always two options. in any case if we get to chose something from a pool of many other things, we can be assured that there’s technically only two choices. one because we want it, and the other as an alternative.
so, is TWO the only option in the ‘is there any option‘ or ‘chose‘ world?
perhaps it is the only one. it’s either TWO or no else?
do you want to go or not? –> it’s either u go, or u don’t.
do you want a pear or an apple? –> it’s either the pear or the apple. you better buy something is you are choosy
out of the three dress, which one do you think is not that pretty? –> you are still left with two after you chose to elimate one.
which one is better? it’s ether the first one or the second one.
need we say more?
the thought that we could only have two options is drilled so hard into our minds that as such, when we dream (if you dare dream)… our brain simulates only two choices. the imperfect either or options.

and so his highness was dreaming… in his dream, he had two choices. there’s five people, and three blades. of the five, there’s his royal highness, four others (was there more, it’s a vague memory now), and the ‘judge’.
the ‘judge’, well, he’s the one who gave the rules. because he had three blades, he told his royal highness to chose two whom he could trust to hand a blade to. two whom he could trust his life. two whom will neither betray him nor stab him, nor gut him for fame and fortune. and the remaining blade will be handed to him.
.
.
.
and without a thought, his highness handed one blade before hesitating. he stopped and asked the one important question. “if you were to chose to kill either him or me, who would you chose to gut without a thought?”. the answer came, “you”. and his highness pass the blade over. for he knew the words were truth and he would not be betrayed until the day to chose came. but he teared as he did so… and who was him anyway?
for the second blade, he wavered. and passed the blade to the third. for the third had proved his heart. why not the second? the second has a mind similar to his highness. up till now, he does not know…
.
.
.
and the alarm clock RANG before he pondered it out in his dreams…
he would have chosen all three of them.
who are they? he didn’t know too… they had foggy faces…
how do they sound? he didn’t know too… everyone spoke with their minds…
—
funny, there’s still the fourth, fifth, sixth… and so on…
could he have handed them some other weapon?
***
perhaps he has read too much about the earth king, and about his choices…
