the match that will decided the fate of spain and sweden breezing into the euro quarter-finals. so here’s another LIVE blog text cast.

a slow start by greece, showing nothing of the might of the defending champions. where’s the one goal miracle from greece that breeze them to the euro 2004? hmm… his highness thinks that one goal magic was dispelled after 4 years?

and it’s boring play from greece… and lots of good skills and aggression shown on the russian side. and at 33′, a GOAL was scored by the russians. and that’s due to a silly mistake from the greece goalkeeper. shocking news.

a kick from russia sends the ball running for a obvious corner. but the goalkeeper RUNS out off to the side to grab the ball? what was he thinking leaving his goal home? CRAZY

the ball gets a back kick, curving back into the game. that makes the ball still a LIVE one and that means… it’s a potential goal! as his royalness watch… he was thinking… OH NO…

and bingo! jackpot! another russian player goes running in, tips the ball in while the greece players were still puzzled by their goalkeeper who ran OUT?

GOAL!!! omg. and the goalkeeper was the one who probably book a ticket for the greeces to return home… and he’s supposed to be an experienced player with many international appearances. that blunder will most certainly end his career.

and at half time (HT), the score stands at:-

and if greece doesn’t do a miracle or buck up, it’s shape up or shit out for them.

and it seems in the second half, with a goal at hand, russia ain’t performing. on the other hand, it’s all greece time. greece with many good shots and aggressive play. but those were all cleared by the russian goalkeeper, who looks really FUNNY in bright green jersey… strangely, he reminds his royalness of william hung…

and then.. russia almost scores! and the greece goalkeeper attempts to redeems himself by saving the ball. and there’s lots of really fast counterattacks from the russians.

and the keeper dives OUT. AGAIN? russia nearly scores! alas, the greece defenders came in time. still, this has been a dry spell season for the greeces.

boring running around shooting around. and so it seems that the russians and the greece simply enjoys falling over, and tripping over… AND falling on top of each other. it seems that falling over each other is pretty much a normal for this night. the sweden vs. spain game was pretty much the same.

10 mins to full time (FT). and the free kicks that gets awarded to russia steps closer and closer to the greece goal… and still the russians miss. amazing. the russians are fast. very fast. it’s a pity their striker’s aint’t world class.

6 more mins. the game continues to be played in greece’s half. it seems the greece have not much space to retaliate. it’s goodbye for the greece? perhaps so.

and greece scores? it wasn’t counted…cos the FLAG was up. and that’ looking bad for the greeces…s

3 mins stoppage time. and russia nearly scores again… lol… greece’s header MISSES..

and it’s over. GREECE’s OUT and is on the way home.

and it seems, the greece flag will fly once more in their last, meaningless game. oops

it was a boring first half. and totally a misery to watch other than the two goals…

there was some nice play by spain and a goal was rewarded for their efforts in the 15′. the swedish scored the equalizer which rekindled their spirits and increased their team defense play.

and then the whole game got REALLY boring with spain playing the passing game from defense and offense. they had ball possession of over 60%. yet, they did nothing magically.

and at full time (FT):-

it continued to be boring with more passing around by spain when second half commenced. spain had many dangerous shots which were all cleared by the swedish defense and saved by the solid, brilliant swedish goalkeeper. that made goal scoring again almost impossible for the spanish strikers.

the swedish magic last till 90′ and into 1min odd into the extra stoppage time. then, the magic vanished as a a long pass from spain, complacence defending in the 2 min odd… and it’s GOAL for spain and despair for sweden. stoppage time for this match was 3 minutes.

at least it seems that the 62% ball possession for spain did some goal in the end afterall…

spain is into the quater-finals. with 1 more game to bag, they can afford play with the reserves. sweden needs to win or draw in their next game.

but it all depends on the next match where former euro champions in 2004 (greece) battle it all out with the russia (former soviet union). will the former champions draw and lose, lose and lose the game, hence becoming the FIRST former champions to exit with 2 straight losses in a row? how amusing!

if greece wins, and sweden loses… the tables could change.

still, his highness is putting his cards on sweden and spain into the quarter-finals. after all, he supports sweden. go swedish vikings!

it’s gonna be a boring match with spain sending in cute players. spain will win by a narrow margin. at best, russia draws the game.

still. his highness would love a russian win. after all, the soviet union was once mighty

rather, his royalness would rather watch the greece vs. sweden match. former euro champions in greece, let’s see if they retain that shine against the sweden team. sweden is in his royal opinion a great team despite what others think. a tough game there.

they really should just reschedules the better matches for the asian audience. after all, we do need our sleep. and we ARE on the other side of the globe.

it seems having too little news on spain and russia proved to be a fatal prediction in this game. spain was all out to kill, only finally giving russia a small little gift in the form of 1 goal to soften their defeat. lol

and that firmly put spain at the top of the tables with 3 points. and a huge goal difference of 3 points. russia? they look like they had booked a ticket home.

now, who would it be? spain and greece? OR spain and sweden who will emerge as the top 2 of the group?
